A Constable carries out the orders of the Justice Court and other legal authorities. This includes, but is not limited to, criminal and civil subpoenas, eviction orders, orders of protection, and the seizure and sale of a property.
Karyn Lathan is the Constable in the University Lakes Justice Precinct, which includes the eastern half of the city of Tempe. She has served your community for six years with integrity and compassion since her election in 2018 and re-election in 2022.
Many families are one paycheck away from eviction and homelessness, so Karyn provides community resources to those who do not have a place to go. Recognizing the traumatic impact of eviction on children, Karyn interacts with families with compassion and care. She is truly the Community Constable, serving both landlord and tenant.
